Purdue Pharma Comes to Opioid Settlement

The Sackler family have been called to give up control of their company, OxyContin maker, Purdue Pharma, allowing its profits to be used to fight the opioid crisis, transforming the company into a public trust.
The new company, Knoa Pharma, would spend its up to $10 billion in profits on means to fight the opioid crisis, which has been linked to more than 500,000 American deaths in 20 years.
No criminal charges have been made in this settlement.

USPSTF Lowers Bowel Prep Age Recommendation

Due to a rise in colorectal cancer cases among the younger population, the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) has lowered the recommended age for colorectal cancer screenings to 45.
Colorectal cancer is the second deadliest cancer in the United States and thankfully one of the most preventable with regular screenings. Click here to read more.

Psychedelic Therapy

It has been said that psychedelics are “poised to change the course of mental health treatment.”
Specialized centers are preparing to study various types of psychedelics to see how they impact mental health.
This is coming at a time when the United States struggles with areas such as depression, which has tripled since the start of COVID-19, and PTSD increasing among healthcare workers and COVID-19 survivors. Click here to read more.

Additional COVID-19 Home Tests

President Biden announced on March 1, 2022 during the State of the Union address that additional COVID-19 tests are available through the website or by calling 1-800-232-0233. All households in the U.S. are eligible to place a second order of four rapid antigen at-home tests to be delivered through the U.S. Postal Service at no charge. Orders are expected to ship within 7 to 12 days of the order date.
