New “World-Changing” Malaria Vaccine

Scientists at the University of Oxford have developed a vaccine with the potential to end one of the largest plagues humanity has faced – Malaria. Trial results from over 400 children show up to 80% protection against a disease that kills over 400,000 people per year.
Scientists say their vaccine is inexpensive and the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer (Serum Institute of India) is poised to make more than 100 million doses annually.
There are 229 million cases of Malaria each year with 94% of them originating in Africa. The disease is caused by a parasite spread by mosquitoes.

Botox Rival Revance Gets U.S. Approval

The aesthetic market dominated by Botox might have a new contender. Revance Therapeutics and their brand Daxxify have shown almost 6 months of lasting effects of anti-wrinkle injection.
With this timeline, as compared to 3-4 months from Botox, Revance could assert themselves as serious competitors in the $3.2 billion dollar market for injectable facial treatments.

COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters

The virus that causes Covid-19 continuously changes with time and immunity from previous vaccines decreases over time, therefore keeping your protection current is important.
The updated Covid-19 vaccine boosters were developed to expand protection against Covid-19, including stronger protection against variants such as Omicron. These new boosters are called bivalent Covid-19 vaccines. These vaccines help protect from severe illness, hospitalization and death from Covid-19.
